Description
In 1951 Earl “Madman” Muntz bought the rights to the Kurtis Sports Car. He rechristened the high-end hardtop convertible “Muntz Jet”, and produced 198 of them through 1954. Around 130 still exist. In 1953 a new Muntz Jet cost $5500 while a Cadillac convertible cost $3987. One sold for almost $120,000 in 2020. The sports car was powered with either a 160 hp Cadillac or Lincoln motor. The Jet shown here has been digitally driven to the historic Daytona Beach race track site.
