Description
It took some doing but I finally got all the elements together in one place, albeit digitally: a beautiful 1966 Pontiac GTO on Route 66 in a Pontiac, Illinois night scene.
Picturesque Pontiac, IL is situated on iconic Route 66 about 100 miles from the Chicago starting point of “America’s Mother Road”. It is home to many attractions including the Pontiac-Oakland Auto Museum and the Route 66 Hall of Fame. Many town structures are adorned with first-class wall murals – like the one on the wall of the Route 66 museum.
I created this nighttime fantasy scene starting with a recent daytime winter photo of the Route 66 mural and added the ’66 Pontiac GTO Convertible captured at a daytime Minnesota car show. I also transplanted an original brick section of Route 66 still in use in the Springfield, IL area.
Mother Road and Pontiac aficionados would love a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle, framed print (up to 4' wide), coffee mug or tote bag. Visit Ron-Long.pixels.com for MANY other satisfaction-guaranteed products. Note that the Fine Art watermark won't appear on any product.

Thanks David! GTOs were VERY popular and desirable in the mid to late-sixties – still are!
